Petroleum And Oil Spills
The Ecuadorian Amazon is contractually divided into oil concession areas, so called ‘blocks’. Each block is assigned to different national and international companies.
In the region of the A’i Cofan (SucumbÃos province), 39 oil blocks are allocated for operation. This map captures petroleum infrastructure, oil spills and environmental liabilities reported in Orellana SucumbÃos province.
